INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT III
Title of Project: CURATIVE RETREAT: DESIGNING RETREAT FACILITIES FOR PRESONAL DISORDER.
INTRODUCTION
Hospitality design is one of the major contributors
to the evolution of interior design by focusing on hotel, casino, spa, salon,
lounge, resort, restaurant and etc. Understanding client branding is central to
hospitality design. The module investigates the attraction of hospitality value
to their specific markets through interior design, which accurately reflects
brand values and corporate identity. This semester students are to explore the
design aspect of retreat facilities that look into spaces for healing.
Alternative healing facilities (non-medical) are becoming a trend to the modern
lifestyle today. Facilities such as day spa, beauty centres and other
non-medical services has become one part of our lifestyle.
OBJECTIVE
1.
To
investigate, analyse, propose, execute conceptual ideation of the research
2.
Ability to
think and work analytical, abstractly and conceptually.
3.
To explore
the many facets of spatial transformational experiential experiences.
4.
To render
various conceptual sketches as means of translating ideas based on site context
and application
5.
To
conceptualize ideas and be skill in the use of materials, lighting, form,
color.
6.
To be
skilful in presentational drawings.

Part
1 the project requires the students to research/explore 6 listed areas in
Therapeutics Recuperation namely
1.

4. Dietary/ Nutrition 5. Aesthetic 6.Cerebral
Part 2 the site and
building analysis will be conducted by all students as a group findings and
presentation. A complete works of this part will be presented to the panels
but most importantly all the information’s are to be shared among the
students for the final work. The site will be at Bangsar, WP. Students are
required to prepare a complete analysis of the site surrounding/context and
the building condition. The findings will be documented in any appropriate
media and presented as a group presentation.

Part 1 A mini
project will the kick start to the design work where student will individually
after identify and choose the therapeutic recuperation, to come up with a promo
both design and also the brand values and cooperate identity. The design of
the promo booth is within the space area of 1500 x 1500 (single user space).

Part 3: Final Project (40% +10%)
INTRODUCTION
This project is an exploration to the new
situation/scheme where to creating a more user oriented facilities that can
give a new interpretation on how a healing spaces can be created. This also contributes to the establishment
intended for the best solution for such build environment. The evolution of healing facilities has so
much of influence in the ways build environment being create and new scheme
being introduced. Each scheme and development has its own target and purposes
but mainly for a better living. A call
for design solutions to this build environment are appropriate for an ever
changes of human needs.
The studio will complete with Design
Exploration and Solution.
Brief: Student is required to propose a new
situation/ setting/ scheme for a curative retreat facilities that will be
formulated from the site visit, self-observation, research and group
discussion. The expectation of this project mainly to look at each student to
propose an approach/scheme based on what is best of the facilites. Each
proposal has to have a significant value to the development. The
only requirement set for this project is:

have done from part 1 and 2.
